Join the rewilding movement and give native species a chance! Transform conventional gardens and landscapes back into thriving ecosystems, attracting birds, pollinators and wildlife – by growing and reintroducing native plants. During this course you will view a slide show on why native species are critical to biodiversity, and learn how native plant species have surprisingly different care needs from the flowers and vegetable plants you know…such as why after the holidays/early winter is the preferred time to sow. You will also discuss ecologically-responsible seed collection and storing procedures, view a demonstration, and get hands-on seed sowing experience. You will go home with several pots of sown native seeds. This is a fun way to welcome winter solstice or a great gift for the nature lover. Wild Seed t-shirts, hats, aprons and signs will also be available for purchase!
