Growing Native Plants from Seed Workshop with Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District

November 9 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am

$25 – $30

Join Heather McCargo, founder and director of Wild Seed Project, to learn how to produce a lot of plants inexpensively and to protect the genetic diversity of Maine native plants by growing native plants from seed.

Heather will explain the germination requirements of a variety of native seeds from wildflowers and ferns to trees and shrubs, with an emphasis on outdoor seed sowing in pots or growing beds. Participants will get hands-on experience in native plant propagation from germination techniques to seed collection and storing procedures.

The cost of the workshop is $25 for Wild Seed Project members; $30 for non-members and includes seed, pots (min. of 4 per person), potting soil, and all instruction. Participants are welcome to bring seeds of native plants they have collected.

Please register here by November 4th!
