In Person: Why Native Plants Matter

November 5, 2023 @ 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Offered in partnership with the Francis Small Heritage Trust

Join Andrea Berry, Executive Director of Wild Seed Project, and the Francis Small Heritage Trust, to learn about how communities can collectively repopulate landscapes with the plants that expand wildlife habitat, support biodiversity, and build climate resilience, while centering traditional indigenous ecological knowledge. We’ll explore the “how-to’s” of conservation through community; including tangible actions that everyone can take in order to reestablish resilient landscapes in the places we live, work, and play. Wild Seed Project is a Maine-based non-profit organization working to inspire communities to make a difference in this time of climate change by doing the smallest of acts: planting native seeds. We believe that planting native plants, grown from seed, within communities, and with a decolonization framework, is both the recipe and the process of creating tangible change. This program will take place directly after the Trust’s Annual Meeting.
