We wrote a book! And we’re having a party!
Every year, we publish a guide to help you translate big picture ideas in ecology, biodiversity and climate science into practical advice you can apply in your own growing spaces. Our latest guide is no exception: Gardening for Biodiversity: Native Plants for the Northeast, celebrates the dazzling diversity of adaptations found across native plant species. It’s a step-by-step guide to creating a garden full of life.
May 22 is also the International Day for Biodiversity - an opportunity to recognize the importance of biodiversity and celebrate the ways we can support thriving ecosystems wherever we live.
In celebration, come join us for a mix & mingle at the excellent Back Cove Books in Portland. There will be time to ask questions, share your gardening experiences, and get to know each other, the wonderful people of the Wild Seed Project community. Members, volunteers, longtime gardeners and novices alike — all are welcome! Light refreshments will be served.
RSVP over at the Back Cove Books website so we know how many cookies to bake. See you there!
Notes on access: Back Cove Books is located on the corner of Woodford St. & Forest Ave. Street parking is available on Woodford, Forest, and in the adjoining neighborhoods. There are two brick steps up into the building. Seating will be available for those who prefer to sit & mingle. Please let us know if there are ways we can support getting you to the event!
