Reading Your Landscape

  • Portland Public Library Burbank Branch 377 Stevens Avenue Portland, ME, 04103 United States (map)

Join us at the Burbank Branch Library for a hands on demonstration of how to assess the conditions of your site prior to planting a native pollinator garden. This event will focus on the importance of selecting the right plants for the right place to ensure your garden is self-sustaining and climate resilient. Wild Seed Project's Manager of Applied Ecology, Tyler Refsland, will walk us through the details of reading your site, from determining sun exposure and soil drainage, to identifying existing competing plants.

This event is part of an ongoing project to build biodiversity at the Burbank Branch.

Please note that this event will take place outdoors. We encourage you to bring sunscreen, water, and weather-appropriate clothing. Rain or snow dates will be determined and communicated by library staff if needed.

Register at the Portland Public Library website.
