In the Litchfield Tent at MOFGA Common Ground Country Fair
Join Wild Seed Project for an introduction to Native Seed Sowing! Emily Baisden, WSP’s Seed Center Director, will lead a presentation and demonstration on the ins and outs of growing native plants from seed. Adding native plants to your landscape can provide huge benefits to our ecosystem. Growing from seed is a cost-effective way to add healthy and well adapted plants to the places you steward. Native plants often have vast differences in their growing requirements compared to the annual vegetables we know and love. One big difference, that avid gardeners have come to love, is that many of these species are best sown in fall and winter. Emily will cover why this season is so different, tips and tricks to ecologically-responsible seed collection, and will demonstrate how to propagate your own seed with the simple-but-effective Wild Seed Project method.
And while you’re at the fair, come stop by our tent! All weekend long we'll have seeds, plants, merch, educational activities and more at our booth in the agriculture section.
